‘Geometrics – Botanics – Poetics’ interprets the artists’ perspective of the shift in perception of the museum objects.
Crystals have long been regarded as magic gardens, delightful and artistic objects created by great forces (described for example in literature of the Romantic era). Minerals are no longer passive, admirable relicts, they aquire a powerful impact and meaning in a world that appears increasingly fragile and vulnerable. Structures and formations shaped by naturale forces inspire the works of Kira Fritsch, Nicole Schuster and Gabriele Hinze. They see themselves as keepers of what we still know today but already witness disappearing, as forward thinkers, engaging with what was and what might come. Despite their individual starting points and modes of expression, their works are unified by parallels in content, form and materiality.
