Unnecessary Jewellery is a project that restores jewellery to its original meaning – as a unique object with deeply personal qualities.
For this second edition, we have invited 18 artists from Poland, Austria, Finland, Great Britain, Mexico, and South Korea to interpret the title theme in their own signature styles.
Using both traditional goldsmithing and experimental techniques (but always with meticulous attention to the smallest detail), they have created a collection of dozens of unique jewellery pieces. These are objects for both everyday and extraordinary use, possessing a value that will not fade with time.
Artists: Marcin Bogusław, Bogumił Bytomski, Norman Cherry, Bartosz Maria Chmielewski, Alberto Dávila, Sławomir Fijałkowski, Jolanta Gazda, Martyna Golińska, Eero Hintsanen, Paweł Kaczyński, Małgorzata Kalińska, Orsolya Karman, Jarosław Kolec, Adriana Lisowska, Konstanze Prechtl, Anna Sikorska, Youjin Um, Arek Wolski
Curators: Prof. Sławomir Fijałkowski, Arek Wolski, Anna Wójcik
