For over 100 years, the Benno and Therese Danner Arts and Crafts Foundation has been committed to the creative crafts in Bavaria.

OBJECTIVES
– Supporting outstanding artisans and talented young people
– Raising awareness of the quality and uniqueness of handcrafted objects
– Creating attention and appreciation for arts and crafts

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
The foundation supports, among other things

– Participation in exhibitions and trade fairs
– Investments in workshops
– Publications
– Further training from the master school to special workshops and mentoring programs
– Class competitions at vocational colleges, technical colleges and academies of applied arts

DANNER PRIZE
Every three years, the foundation awards the Danner Prize for outstanding craftsmanship, which is recognized far beyond Bavaria’s borders. The artisans selected by the jury can expect 20,000 euros for the main prize, a further 20,000 euros for up to four honorary prizes, an exhibition lasting several weeks in renowned museums with a high-quality exhibition catalog.

– Special show “SCHMUCK Munich” as part of the Internationale Handwerksmesse
– Funding for regional exhibition projects

COLLECTIONS:
– International Contemporary Jewelry Collection – one of the most renowned collections of author’s jewelry worldwide with over 700 pieces from 1945 to the present, on display in the “Danner Rotunda” in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich

– Contemporary Arts and Crafts Collection
