About this Event
The starting point is our outstanding collection of prints by Rembrandt and Dürer, whose works are shaped by profound religious, spiritual, and existential themes.
At the same time, historical printmaking and contemporary jewellery share a deep commitment to craftsmanship: precise line work, meticulous execution, and masterful control of materials—qualities essential both to the copperplate etching and to the art of the jeweller.
SACRED FORMS brings these historical narratives into dialogue with contemporary jewellery art from Munich.
The focus lies on thematic resonances: Faith & Doubt, Ritual & Body, Transcendence & Material, Symbol & Identity.
The participating jewellery artists reinterpret these themes in new, personal, critical, or poetic ways. The dialogue arises from meaning, not stylistic imitation.
